Required Supplies for Band 

All of these items will be available at any music store that supplies band instruments.

All instruments

• Music Stand (for home use)

• Pencil, for daily use in practice and band lessons and rehearsals

• Lesson book. Beginners: Essential Elements Book 1 (for their instrument)

• Metronome and tuner, many free metronome and tuner apps are available for smart phones and tablets, you can also purchase a metronome and tuner online or from a music store.

Flute

• cleaning/tuning rod (should come with the flute)

• Soft cleaning cloth (a handkerchief or piece of an old t-shirt works great, but will need to be cut to approx. 8”x 8”) 

Clarinet 

• Four reeds in working condition, beginners start with strength #2 ½

• Clarinet swab, silk or handkerchief style preferred

• Cork grease

Saxophone

• Four reeds in working condition, beginners start with strength #2 ½

• Saxophone swab

• Cork grease

Trumpet, French Horn, Baritone, Tuba

• Valve oil, (Rotor oil for French Horns)

• Slide grease

Trombone

• Slide Cream, Slide-O-Mix All In One “Rapid Comfort” preferred.

• Spray water bottle with water (can be found in music stores or stores with travel items) 

• Slide grease

Percussion

• Percussion Students will be using a percussion kit that includes a bell set, mallets, snare drum, practice pad, and drum sticks (please request drum stick size of 2B).
